Bosch H4 conversion kit

Wow! A blog. Guess I'll test it out by posting about my mods and allow others to possibly enjoy what I have to say.

Bosch H4 conversion kit: http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?...umber=28-17100

I'll start by talking about my headlight upgrade. Back in Feb. '10, the Flyin' Miata guys offered up a group buy on some H4 headlights that they found over in Europe. The price they were offering was pretty darned good - $50 for a pair with bulbs. To make it worth their while, they said they needed 50 people to sign up for the group buy before they could strike a deal for a pallet of lights. Well, the pointy board went nuts. They had over 100 sign-ups the first weekend! They had so many, that they went ahead and ordered the first pallet weeks before they said they were going to. I got mine I think about two weeks after sign-up.

The install was straight forward. Assemble the light (install bulb in housing and push on rubber rainshield), open miata lights, Pop off the covers, retaining ring, unplug light, plug new light in, reinstall retaining ring, reinstall covers, consume fav beverage. It was 15 minutes a side and with time to clean up the headlight assembly a little. The light output is much improved and no one has "flashed" me thinking I had my brights on. A+ upgrade in my book.

Regards.

I did the Hella H2 conversion last year. It would be interesting to compare them side by side.

I'll try to remember to mention it the next time we see each other at a Wed GTG.
