Where did you get them shaved and how much? IMO, seems like a waist of money for the type of tire it is. For regular track days, I've been told not to shave the RA1's cause they'll last longer. If I was doing SM then I'd shave'em for the slight performance edge.
Nealb is a nationally competitive autocrosser, he wouldn't shave his tires if it was a waste of money. It's a common practice in the street tire classes these day.Quote:

he charges $125

I had my 15" Bridgestones shaved by the same guy. Much better shave than TireRack. Almost as good as PTS.Quote:

Cool, I've got a lot of track experience but still fairly new. Still trying to figure out all the tire options, pressures, etc. The RA1's I had for Hallett's SM/PA class I certianly had shaved. Of course the Hoosiers and BFGs don't need to be shaved. Thanks for the info.Quote:
