Looks like a poorly modified Lotus Esprit to me.
There used to be a race series for these cars in 1979-1980. The series followed the Formula One schedule at time time, and the races consisted of the fastest qualifiers for the F1 race. The cars were all identically prepped, and Niki Lauda won the championship in 1979, Nelson Piquet won it in 1980. It was called the Procar Series. Linkie!!
I have always like the way the M1's looked, and I really like the fat flares on the one above. It looks like it would eat Lambos for lunch.
