Hi Guys.
Technically this is my second Miata since selling my first.
The car is a 1990 in Classic Red, a B-package with VLSD and 210k miles on the odo. The car was in decent condition mechanically, I think one of the bearings is going from the noise it makes when driving. It leaks a couple drops of oil every week or so. Here's the Craigslist ad:

The exterior needed a little work when I got it though:

So I did what any industrious person would do; I hired my friend to come out and help me take the finish down to bare metal so I could respray it.

As you can see, he works cheap. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep him motivated for long so I took over for him and have spent my weekends sanding for the past month or so.

The car has no exterior paint now, there are still a few patches of the first primer coat that I'm working through. I've started painting the fenders and plastic parts, though. Can't wait to drive it again.
I had a Mariner blue '90 as well, but I sold (regrettably) it to fund my other projects. I still have the blue hard top sitting in my shed that I'm trying to find a good home for, too.

Welcome aboard! I remember the 'swirly' car. ;)

Quite a project you've taken on there! I swear if you stare at that Rorschach hood shot long enough you can see all kinds of hidden images. And messages.::EvilBana

Welcome aboard and keep up the hard work! The body looks pretty straight from the pix - can't wait to see the finished product...

thanks for the encouragement. I would like to see that commercial too. I'd hate to think all that work went into ruining the paint for nothing.
