Clutch Pedal way up??
I swiped the ::Curls:: '02 Miata this AM.
The clutch doesn't engage until the pedal just shy of fully released. Checked the clutch fluid reservoir and it was at its normally level. Peeked under the car and saw no signs of fluid leaks near the clutch slave. Figure I'll run it up the ramps when I get home and see if the clutch slave is leaking.
Could this also be a sign that we may be at the end of the original clutch on this car?

Yep... sounds like a worn clutch to me.

Ran it up the ramps and no sign of a clutch slave leak.
But no slipping yet, so I guess it is OK for now.....

Yeah... I'm sure it's fine.

Mine did that with the new clutch installed. The clutch rod freeplay adjustment had worked itself loose. You might try that.

I would consider readjusting the clutch rod. This rod is in the foot well area and attaches to the pedal through the firewall, you should see it pretty easily with good lighting. There is a 12 mm jam nut that you loosen first and usually you can turn the rod with your hand, if not use a 10 mm open wrench to turn the rod. A little goes a long way so make one turn and test. You do want about 3/4" of free travel at the top, you should be able to easily press the pedal to test with your hand.
