I bought this car from a local dealer in 2003 with 81,000 miles. I had the 75K mile service completed at a Lexus Dealership shortly after buying the car. Oil and filter was changed at the recommended 5K mile intervals. Wheel alignments were done with the oil changes since I had purchased a wheel alignment contract. 90k mile service was performed at around 100,000 miles with replacement of the timing belt, water pump, cam seal, crank seal, idler pulley, and O-rings.
The paint on the hood was starting to oxidize so I had the car recently professionally resprayed in its original color, Moonstone Pearl Metallic, at a cost of $1,500. I was bored with the 2-tone color scheme so I had the car resprayed in a single tone like the newer Lexus LS models. I also had chrome grill inserts placed for a more aggressive look.
The car has been trouble-free in the 5 years that I've owned it. Besides tire and battery changes, the only other thing that I've had to replace was the power steering pump.
It is reliable,and inexpensive to maintain. Recent clean Carfax record available. It has not been wrecked or involved in any accident. The car drives wonderfully and is absolutely beautiful. Everything you'd expect from a flagship Lexus vehicle.
