What is the SFI info on the harness... and what's the date on it?
Picture shows SFI date of Apr 2006.
What's the torque damper do(or why would the additional damping be necessary) and how does it get installed on a miata?

The torque damper reduces engine torque and movement. It works very well, too.

It mounts on the strut tower and to the engine hook mount on the head. This damper is really for a 1.6 car, but it is made extremely strong. I used it on my 1.8 with no issues. I mounted it under my strut tower brace.
