What is the name of the tool for the bolts of the top latch? Can I get it from HF? I need to adjust my side latch plate of the HT. I know a big flat screw driver will work. However, it has the tendency to slip and mess up the bolt.

It is a Torx T-30 or T-40 size. Should be able to get it at HF, Sears, or any auto parts store. If it wasn't pouring outside, I would go out to the shop and verify the size.
Are you sure the "side" latch striker plates are Torx? Mine are Phillips. Front/Top are Torx though..
Early cars were phillips, and switched to torx about '91.
Interesting. Was that for factory installed strikers? Both my '90 and '94 needed them, ordered them seperatly from Trussville and when the parts came, both times they came with phillips.
It's one of the few things I managed to install myself without screwing it up and calling either you or Gary to do for me. LOL. Is I a mekanic now?
did you try a http://thepopitude.com/marlins/hammertime.gif with out the mc?
When I bought my 94 it had 2 phillips, 1 torx and 1 10mm shoulder bolt. Apparently any M8 x 1.25 will work. The screws that came with the side striker plates I ordered from Mazda were phillips and too large in diameter. I had to run them all through a die, the black finish was too thick.
