The '94 has a RRRrrrRRRrrrRRR noise as it rolls down the street local hero Rogue said it sounded like it could be rear bearings.
Checked end-play and the rear bearing appear to be in spec but the noise persists. So it is time for me to listen to Rogue and fix the darn thing.
Anyone tacked this job lately any pointers for us first timers. ;)
IIRC, I replaced the whole hub/axle assembly with a rebuilt unit from that place in Hurst on the northwest corner of Precinct Line and Hwy 10. Have fun getting your nut off.

I don't remember it being too hard to get it off the car, but I had to have somebody press out the old and press in the new.

When I have had rear wheel bearing issues, I noticed the sound when the bad side was loaded. For example, when you take a right, you load the left side. That wheel bearing should really groan. The opposite will for work for the right wheel bearing. You should notice this at low speeds. I just ordered up one side from Rockauto (Bearing, Seal, & New Axle Nut = $41.79 shipped) figure I'll try one side first and see how bad the job is.
I got a breaker bar and a pipe so I'm not real worried about my nuts. ;-)
I have gotten a few nuts off in the Miata. It can be pretty satisfying when it you finally get it off.
