I am parting out my 90 if you need the buckles from it
Different years have different belts and are not easily swapable or compatible. Post what year your looking for. 90-93 is one style, 94-95 another and 96-97 yet another from what I recall.
well its kinda confusing... the car is a 90 and i believe the seatbelts are 90 too, but the interior is swaped from what i believe to be a later model miata ( its a nardi edition interior, w/ the blue and black leather and suede seats) so maybe it also has the newer buckles?
which may be why they arn't really working.
im just tired of messing with the seatbelt for 20 seconds to get it to buckle, and then still have it occasionally come off::Rant::
I fought a similar problem in my 1990. Sometimes it took several tries before the latch would click and sometimes it would release a few seconds after I thought it was buckled.
I even replaced the tunnel side with one for a wrecking yard only to experience the same problem.
Finally I dusted the latch with some graphite I got to free up door locks and it has coupled and uncoupled like new ever since.
A little puff in door and trunk locks does wonders for them, too. I even did the door locks on the house! I found the stuff where they cut new keys.
