Best Buy has been having a 40" 1080p LCD (Proscan brand) off and on for a while for $499. I got one for the bedroom (hey the wife bought the "tv cabinet" and I maximized the TV that fit in the space ;))
It's REALLY good for the money.
I got a 46" 1080p Sony LCD several weeks ago for $899 from Frys! Although this is a mid-level Sony 09 model. It is still a steal!
Titus gave me a 52" 480p RCA tv. ::Banana::
It works great, BTW.
