Need some quick classing help

Running my Mazda this Sunday at Mineral Wells. I'm running lower chassis braces front and rear no upper strut tower braces at all. Other than the braces no mods.

I have Falken Azines on the back porch which I assume would put me in STS even with my bracing. I also have a set of Toyo R-888s that I would like to run but I according to STS rules I can't run them there I would need to run them in ES class. But then again I don't think I can run ES in a 91 with chassis bracing.

By "braces", are you meaning just strut bars (lower), or genuine chassis braces?

Chassis bracing puts you all the way up to DSP or maybe even SM, not sure where they draw the line. The Azenis are legal in any class, and the Toyos would be fine in G Stock(Ion Redline is not an ES car, but a GS car, like the Cooper S). If I were you, I'd just ask the GS guys if you can run with the braces, rather than trying to go to a prepared or modified class. I suspect they'll be fine with it unless you kick all their asses. :)
Seriously, if that's your only significant mod, just run Stock and clear it with your competition.

Edit: Just realized you were talking about your Mazda. Other than my inability to read, same advice.

Your chassis braces would put you in Street Prepared or Street Modified, I would imagine. If you want to use Azenis, then you would attach the Tire modifier to it. If you use the R-888s, then you would not use the Tire modifier.

It really depends on the type of chassis braces. I think anything that only ties in at 2 spots is legal for STS or CSP. Anything that is attached at 3 or more spots (think ladder brace) puts you all the way up in street mod.

The Toyos would be for the Miata. I don't have anything but my normal street tires for my Ion. So sounds like I'm going to go SP then. It's not chassis bracing like a butterfly brace it's simply the lower bracing for the rear of the front lower control arms and the rear subframe brace.

The Ion I think will fall into SM. It has Eibach springs (stock dampers, damper selection for that car is very limited) Chassis bracing, front subframe brace, strut tower brace, larger rear sway bar, and Hurst short shifter. No power mods. Last time I ran it I ran in STU. I suck at classing cars lol.

Except for the subframe brace, I think the Ion could still be in STU
