Might depend on your circumstances. Do you have a garage or a hardtop or another car? If no to all of these, I'd consider farming out this particular job.
If you've got any of those three things, though, you can take your time with the top change...if you're patient. Would be a good experience, and afterward you can proudly say "yeah, I did that myself!"
I did most of mine in an afternoon. It was fairly easy removing the frame from the car and installing it on the garage floor.
gotta garage, gotta couple other cars and i do like the satisfaction of doing it myself! thanks for the replies maybe others will share their ideas!
Check the Garage section on Miata.net. Should be a good write-up there with pics.
If you need the Pros we can sell you the top, your choice of style, give you all the tips so you can install yourself or do the complete installation.
Be glad to help.

Im going to be replacing mine here this coming weekend :P wish me luck haha
Just don't buy the Robbins Streamline top for NA. Terrible top, stick with the Robbins OEM tops.
Easy to do yourself. you may want to wait until the weather is a bit warmer. It will be hard to stretch the fabric right now.
