Rusty Coolant???

I think Onething has broken my '94 Miata..... ;)

Since I resurrected the POSIV I keep having my coolant turn from a happy green to rust colored coolant & it takes it a thousand miles or so but always the same end result rusty coolant. I have drained it and refilled it with coolant a few times now and so far keep getting the same result.

Radiator and all hoses are new (Well less that 10,000 miles).

Went to O'Reilys this morning and got some Prestone Super Cleaner and Super Radiator Anti-Rust. Guy at O'Reilys figured the motor has sat up for a while which has allowed the water jacket to get some rust in it. I think he is on the money because the motor did spend some time "resting" outside a Miata before it was placed in the POSIV.

Anyone else ever had this issue??

My motor was out of the car a few years. I ran a flush/cleaner through it, and then just kept running water through it with the drain plug off until it was clear again.

Too much Geritol in the system? ;)

Ran the cleaner in it & flushed the system a couple of times and put the Prestone stuff in it we will see how it looks in about a 1,000 miles...

It's that cheater engine you put in! All high HP mills have rusty colored coolant.
