I have been noticing more 80 mph speed limits in Texas lately. Are they trying to make sure we don't reduce emissions? I 10 west of Kerrville is 80 mph now. It's kind of fun to see if your car will pull those hills in fifth at 80.

I'm all for it. I'm actually all for unlimited speed limits out there just cause the place is so damn flat and featureless. I've done a few rides down to Big Bend on the bike and everytime that 500 mile distance from here to there is just WAY too boring lol. There's nothing out there but desert once you get to a certain point. Even 80 seems like you are crawling.
My last car got better mileage at 80 mph than it did at 65 mph. Not sure about the Miata yet.
I always thought 70mph was a state law...cool.
This makes me :D :burnrubr:
I got stopped yesterday doing 85 in a 60, cop let me off the hook....cool.
the fast you get somewhere the less gas you use and the less exhaust your car gives off because your engine doesn't have to spend as long running. every one knows that.
I blame public education.
