Can anyone out there post some pictures of the springs on the rear brakes of an NB Miata? I took all of that extraneous crap off of my '99 a year ago, and now, because I'm a glutton for punishment, I'm trying to put that stuff back on...but I can't seem to get it quite right. TIA
Springs? Most Miata's have 4-wheel disc brakes.

yep, those pesky little m springs. i keep thinking i know how they are supposed to be installed, but they don't seem to want to stay in place. now, naturally, i assume i'm doing it wrong.

i took mine off since it only had one on from the previous owner. they aren't necessary but they do eliminate some noise
i don't remember how i placed them, but with a picture it shouldnt be too difficult to manage
thanks for the pic, i'll compare that to how i was trying to install them.
on a related note, has anyone had experience with front brakes that drag? i have greased the pins and even rebuilt the calipers but the fronts are still dragging. i have had them apart twice this morning, i can't see anything wrong though...

Disc brakes drag, by design. There is always a little pressure in the hydraulics to keep the pads nesettled up against the rotors. My 2006 seems to oscillate between a little pressure and enough pressure to keep the car from rolling down a slight incline. Nonetheless, you might want to take a look at the flex lines. If they're clogged, they might retain too much pressure to the calipers. My friend destroyed a rotor on his Chevy truck because of a clogged flex line.
roger that, i'll give the lines a look. i know that there should be some drag, but i'm actually hearing them drag when i drive next to a solid surface (building or fence) that relfects sound. i never heard that until recently...
