??????
Atleast it was a 3rd gen
That was Knight Rider, he must have hit the boost button!!!!!
Didn't even look like there was a chase or anything going on in the video.
But that launch was epic.
I wonder if the driver watched Dukes of Hazzard before he went on his drive
Saw that earlier today. Looked like he hit the overpass support sideways.....
I think I heard him say,"Hold my beer, watch this."
The only reason he is still alive is the impact occured on the passenger side of the car. Good thing he was by himself.
Wow, that was some impact.
For those that missed it, There is a link below it for a second video that gives some more background and eye witness accounts.
Holly crap, I hope the kid makes it. The car sure didn't.
I wonder how fast HE could take Turn 1 At Hallett....
Miataspeedracer and Keifersmith lol!
The fact that anyone could be conscious and alert after a get off like that is beyond me. Wow! Fire Chicken's definately can not fly... very well atleast.
When I see this video, it helps justify (a little bit) why some cops seem to just be "on edge".
My prediction: The kid was racing when he saw the cop cruiser and froze in surprise. We all know what happened after that.
This is why speed limits exist, and why it is a good idea to obey them. Kids see someone speeding a little, and they think it is OK to speed a little more. The process compounds and cycles until people are losing control at 120mph.
The wild thing is, it's easy to speculate that the reason he hit the median, and ultimately the grass before losing control, would have been because he caught sight of a cop and wanted to slow down/not hit him; but the brakes aren't on as he heads into frame, approaches the middle of the grass median, or even hits the guard rail -no, the brakes flash once he's in the air.
The car looks like it hit the pillar not just on the passenger side, but at the bottom edge no less. Can't imagine what that must have felt like, as there is probably one angle that engineers never cared about strengthening the car for with regards to impacts.
i would blame my aftermarket toyota motor
