About me
Just dawned on me that I never introduced myself before I started random posting in teh forum. Sorry about that. :) I am a new Miata owner fo about one month. First ever Mazda for that matter, but I always liked the old RX7.
I didnt just set out in search of a Miata but this one sort of just found it's way to me. I had been driving a loaner of sorts from my in-laws for about a year. A teal green 1999 Buick Regal. the AC had died on it and I was starting to look around for something to buy. I'm typically not a, "Go out and buy a brand new vehicle" type of person. Hate the depreciation etc. A friend at work had a neighbor with this 1995 Miata and he was thinking of selling it. They just used it as a weekend "fun" car. The plast window was shot, the soft top had a tear below the window, the driver's side headlight would pop up, but would not go down on it's on. The front bumper cover had some paint chipping off and the guy was just not big on DIY type of things and I guess he was fearful the car was going to start to nickle and dime him. So, he decided to sell. 1995 with 55k miles. Brand new tires, new allignment, new timing belt and hard top included. He just wanted to sell it and get it out of the driveway. I managed to buy the car for $1500. So, I felt like I got a great deal. From everything I read, these are easy to work on, easy to ad modifications and improve over stock etc. So, this begins my Miata journey. After a month, I cant begin to say how much I enjoy this car. I doubt that I will ever get into serious racing or autocross types of things with it, but I do plan to add some moderate boosts to performance with suspension and horse power upgrades. I'm learning about the car, what it does, what it has in way of mods already added. Mysterious wires and harness plugs abound. It does have the Racing Beat intake mod with the K&N filter, so that's a start. :)
Just a few things about me. I am a typical middle aged average guy. Hobbies are golf, gardening, home improvement types of things (helps when you live in an old house). I have worked in the HVAC business since I was 14, so if anyone has a need for questions and answers about that topic, feel free to ask.

Welcome officially aboard! You got a great deal on a very low mileage car!

And I thought I had good mileage with about 60K on my 99.

Welcome! You absolutely stole that car for $1500. The hard top alone is worth $800-1000 depending on condition.
