your asking 100tw vs 200tw, how long do you want your tires to last. you can get a NT01 ins 225/45/15, star spec is max of 205/50/15 (at lest on tire rack)
I vote Star Specs, but that's only because I hope to (eventually) run E Stock (periodically) on those tires myself.
Seems like the NT01's would be a good compromise for you, since they wear better than R-comps, but will be stickier than SCCA-legal "street" tires. Also well-priced.
What about the Kuhmo XS or Hankook RS3?
The RS3 is the new hotness in STR if you can run a wide enough wheel and, more importantly, actually find some to purchase.
