OK I'll ask : Why would one need to change a diff vent??
I usually change the diff vent whenever I replace my Canooter valve.
I change it every time I wash the windows on my Segway.
I thought the diff vent was part of the canooter valve on Segways.
There's a vent???
The guy that did the write up says he changes it YEARLY when he changes the diff oil. He claims:
It can build up with gunk over time and become blocked. This will lead to seal failure in the pinion seal or axle seals due to excessive pressure buildup. If the seal failure is not caught in time the loss of oil in the rear differential will lead to differential bearing and gear failure.
REALLY???
