Wondering if anyone is looking to add to their family? *rescue puppy content*
Meet Henry!
Henry was found wandering with no tags on my wife's school campus about 6 weeks ago.
The principal being an animal lover took him into her office and once my wife saw him she volunteered us to foster until he finds a forever home instead of allowing her to call the Irving City Shelter.
We checked for a microchip, posted signs in the neighborhood, posted a found dog post on Craigslist and filed a found dog report with the City of Irving. His previous owners never stepped forward.
Henry is a Shepperd Mix and around 5-6 months of age, the general consensus is he will be 50-60 lbs when fully grown.
We have been working with him and have been able to crate and potty train him.
He only had one accident in the house the 1st day he was in the house. We are now 6 weeks without an accident!
He spends 99% of his time indoors, and sleeps in the crate up with the other members of his current pack at night.
Henry is an extremely smart dog... probably top 10%.
He can figure out things quickly... seriously it took less than a minute to teach him how to sit.
Another example is that in 2 days of being in our house he figured out that he could run the other way and intercept our other dog in a game of keep away. Most puppies just give chase.
Due to his intelligence and high energy level he will probably do best in a home that has prior dog experience.
He has acclimated well with our two dogs and LOVES to play. So a home with another active dog will be a huge plus.
He also ignores/avoids our two cranky senior cats... so he will do just fine in a house with cats.
Being a puppy he has boundless energy so he will need lots of regular exercise to keep him on an even keel. He also has been given a mid-day potty break and it would be best if he could still have this opportunity until he gets a little bit older.
He has had an issue with car sickness that we are currently working on... I believe its the reaction to the car instead of motion sickness.
He currently has had all of his puppy shots and is set for his "big boy surgery" on 12/20.
All we ask of the person that adopts him is to love and cherish him like he deserves and to never break the promise of a forever home.
If you have any questions or want to talk about Henry give me a call or IM me!
