NT01 pressures
Hi Guys,
I've been running street tires for track days for the last year and a half, and now that I've made it to yellow with TDE and DE3 with NASA, I'm moving up to NT01's for the upcoming NASA weekend at MSRC.
I've searched for recommendations on starting and target hot pressures for NT01's, but have come up empty. Anyone have some guidance? They're 205-50-15's mounted on 15x8 6UL's and going on a normally aspirated '90 @ 2250#.
Thanks!
Chris

If I remember correctly cold at around 27-28 psi hot at around 31-32 but I haven't ran the nt-01s in a while and only vaguely remember. Are running the Miata challenge as well?

Thanks! The sheet from Discount Tire says 28, but that just seemed a bit on the low side.
I'm running DE3 and the Miata challenge is (I think) in the DE4/TT group that is going to run the 3.1 due to car counts while everyone else will be on the 1.7. I'll be collecting data so I'll be able to pull laptimes, just not from timing and scoring.

A tire pyrometer will tell you but I believe its 31psi hot, the same as my 9" w/ 225's. A quick email to 949 will answer your question without the guess work on tire temps. Camber matters too though, if you don't have 2.7/2.5* then the outsides will run hot.
Unlimited will be in the TT group, if you are in mod or street you will run 1.7. Let me know if you need a tire monkey out there to set the pressure in the first session.

Chris,
are your nt01s on enkei rpf1 wheels? what wheel width?

Nah. I mounted them up on 15x8 6UL's.
Brand new 205/50-15 NT01 on a 15x8 6UL = 30.5 pounds
80% StarSpec 205/50-15 on Enkei RPF1 15x7 = 30.5 pounds

when i ran the 205/50/15 nt-01's they were best @ 35-36psi hot. the wider 225/45/15 nt-01's are best at 31-32psi. but yes, cold pressure needs to be around 5-6psi lower on your first session to hit those hot targets.
