The wording smells sort of like a scam.

No sign of it on Ebay.

Looks like bait to get valid email adresses and ebay ids for spam lists.

Got some other random emails back from the "seller" with instructions on giving him my ebay user ID and he'll set up a private auction or some shiz. Some type of escrow account.

It's a scam. Sorry for the false alarm.

First clue was not Texas inspection sticker on it so chances were good it wasn't local. ;)

And it has been taken down from CL.

It used to be easy to use craiglook to search for other similar ads if the one you found looked too good to be true. Too bad craigslist shut them down.
