Computer problems, help

I have a Sony PCV-RX850 desktop. I noticed the other day that all the lights on the front of the tower and all the lights on the keyboard were blinking. I tried to turn it off by holding the on/off switch down, but it would not turn off. I then unplugged it. I waited a long while then plugged it back up and the lights immediately started to blink again. So, I unplugged it again.

My question...does this sound like the mother board? Something that is fixable?

PS: I know the computer is about ten years old, but I am a card carrying member of TCB.

Only one cure for this bad boy... the scrap heap. It likely costs you more in power to run it for a year than it would to buy a new refurb from Dell (with a coupon of course).
