I use it on the occasion that I have to go into third, but I use it more at PCA time trials and the rare occasion that I track the car.
Heck, I use it every time I drive the Miata because it's fun.
it sooo easy on a miata compared to other cars, i do it on the track. driving shoes or a fat gas pedal help make this easier to do. i practiced with everyday shoes on the way home from work a couple years ago and when i put on the driving shoes it happened almost naturally.
I prefer toe-heel downshifting. :0
Pretty important anywhere you're not in 2nd on an autocross course whether that's going from 3rd back to 2nd or 2nd back to 1st.
I actually use toe-ankle. This guy uses toe-toe. Watch his foot work.

I kept expecting Lee Majors to jump out and save a kid in the video somewhere.
BTW - Nice work on composing that soundtrack, cone-cerned.
I use the left side of my foot on the brake, and roll the right side onto the gas pedal to revmatch. I do it all the time, much to the annoyance of anyone in the car (lots of eye-rolling).
