I duno I would think the same women that call themselves "Cougars" would be proud to know there was a team playing for them. Hell it might even boost game attendance since they could scout for future companions.

The effing "cougarville" TV show was named after a high school who's mascot was a cougar. Why wouldn't they oblige?!
20+ years ago, I coached high school swimming at Evergreen Colorado, home of the Cougars. Still called that today. Course, it's in the mountains...and there are...mountain lions...aka cougars...roaming the woods...
