I tried it. At 1Hz it lags at track speed. I saw a GPS puck that will pair to the iPhone without having to Jailbreak it. For fun video with data overlay generated from the phone it is ok. Not a serious track analysis.
Good to know. I see that you can use Dashware to overlay data from HLT with video from a Go Pro. Thats what I was interested in doing, but I'm not too excited about spending $50 on the software to do it...
Harry's will do it on the iPhone.
I know, but I've already got a go pro and a roll bar mount for it...
I tried it once on the S2k at MSR and I couldn’t get it to work for shit. The native iPhone GPS receiver does not have the repeat rate and apparently drops signal quite often. Doesn’t matter much if you’re using it for navigation, but it has an impact if you’re trying to use it as a lap timing device.
I understand it works better when paired with an external GPS repeater.
Tried 5 times to get it to work. never did.
Pretty much my experience, too. I hear that the TomTom windshield mount and repeater make it work much better.Quote:
