i may have a friend ditching a tien basic setup. They are a decent starter set but nothing super special.

Ohlins are far from average, price-wise. Almost as much $ as AST's.
Suspension is second only to tires in making a car fast around a track/autox, so you definitely get what you pay for. I will be upgrading my coilovers to AST's eventually.
