New dog thread...
So... it looks like I'm on the verge of becoming a two dog household. First up is Miley, who currently belongs to a family member. He's started travelling a whole bunch for work, so his dog ends up spending about half her time at a boarding kennel. Word got around that I had lost Molly, and we arranged a "test drive" this week while he's out of town. She showed up today before all the weather hit (no tornadoes that I could see). So far she's very chill, very quiet, and hasn't barked once. If the weather's nice, I'll bring her out to Keller's tomorrow. She might be a keeper.
Miley's about 5 years old, a lab/heeler mix (a cagey veteran with great locker room presence)

Also, I've been talking to a rescue outfit south of Cleburne about another pup, and went down there this past Saturday to check out Claire. The mom dog got dumped at the rescue when she was waaaay pregnant with a diverse litter. The pups are about a year and half, and still a little "puppy wild" at times, but very sweet nonetheless. I talked to the rescue lady again today, and she's going to bring Claire out next Monday or Tuesday.
Claire, the young upstart basseboxador (raw talent with tremendous upside)

I apologize for the cheesy sports analogies... couldn't help myself.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Molly, but looks and sounds as if you will be in good paws. Animals love unconditionally. If only we could learn from them. Enjoy!

Congrats on the new dogs.
I had to put down my dog, Boomer, today due to kidney failure. He was a damn good dog. You may remember I brought him out to Kellers one time awhile back.
By the way there WAS a tornado along Centerville Road in Garland. They had my wife's school in Rowlett in lockdown mode due to the tornado.

Man I'm really sorry to hear about Boomer...
I'll have to get out today and scope out the storm damage. I heard the sirens once, and it got real dark just south of Kingsley, so that might've been the worst of it moving through.

The Wolf Pack grew by one today... Claire has spent the last week and a half getting used to things like people and TV and being inside. I decided she was ready for her friend, so Miley came back to stay today. There was the typical butt-sniffing and some woofing, but each decided the other one was cool, so they spent about a half-hour playing grab-ass in the back yard. Now they're lounging worthlessly in my office. All is well...

Yes, I need to clean up the office...

What does that roadsign say? "Rowdy times ahead!" Looks like fun to me.
