I'm hoping to change my rear main seal on my Miata this weekend. I have the seal, jack stands, garage etc. but no clutch alignment tool. If anyone has one I could borrow, I'd be very appreciative. If not, then I'd be looking for a place that sells them. I'll be in the Flower Mound area if you want to stop by and see the progress or help. Thanks.
You might want to check with Track Dog or the shop out by TMS to see if they saved a few. I have a handful in my toolbox but I'm in Parker County and currently unable to drive due to a damaged nerve in my back and the resultant meds. (none really fun)
Check with Rogue at MiataSolutions.com....he's not too far from FM.

If Rogue doesn't have one or is unavailable, I do. I'm a few miles away from him, so not too far either. Think it took me about 20 minutes to get somewhere in FM last time.
My toolbox has a few clutch tools in it. I can't guarantee that one is for a Miata, but it is possible.
If someone knows the spline count and bearing diameter, I can go check to see if I have it.
You should really think about putting a clutch in since you are going all the way in.
That rear main seal has been leaking on the clutch.

I was thinking about doing some other stuff while I'm in there like replacing clutch and the transmission input shaft seal. The PO (a neighbor) assured me that the clutch was recently replaced and I believe him. There's no slip. As a matter of fact, it'll do burnouts. As for the trans seal, the parts guy at Mazda talked me out of that and said he's never stocked them. Besides if that was leaking, wouldn't that soak the clutch through the throwout bearing guide tube? Is that right?
^I'd replace everything (seals,etc) I had access to with the tranny out. Clutch kits aren't that expensive, and just because it's not slipping
doesn't mean it's not contaminated. YMMV.
I decided to hire Rogue to do it. He sounds like he knows what he's doing. I also wasn't looking forward to doing that job anyway plus the pressure of having it all back together to drive to work on monday. Thanks everyone for the advice.
