04-05 Bilstein Hds, with H&R springs too rough
I got a great deal from a local miata driver and paid $250 for a set of Bilstein HDs with 10k miles on them and some H&R springs, 250 front, 125 rear, and NB top hats.
These replaced my dead stock setup and now the car turns corners like nothing Ive ever driven. Very little body roll at all.
However, it is just plain uncomfortable to ride in. It seems to soak up high speed bumps with no problem, but the joints between pavement blocks on our texas roads rattle me like crazy. Im not feeling it bottom out.
My seat is foamectomied, and the passenger seat isnt. It feels a bit better due to the extra inch or so of cushion... but I like the dished in feel of m drivers seat and would like to keep it.
Is there anythig I can do short of going with a complete new shock/spring setup to improve the ride quality?
P.S.
The Bilsteins raised the height of the car about 1 inch, but the H&Rs lowered it so that it is sitting about 1 inch below stock @ 12.5 rear, 12 front. Oh and Im on near stock sized 195/60/14 Falken 912s.
