Like the title says, What pads do you prefer to use at local racetracks like Eagles Canyon, etc.
I'm trying to decide on what direction to take my new braking system. I'd really like something that can "do it all" i.e. street and track. recommendations?

Hawk Street or Hawk Plus; the latter being more durable but dustier and squeakier.
I guess it depends on the car. 1.6 Miatas have terrible brake bias, so I run Hawk Ceramic in front and Hawk HP+ in the rear to even it out a little.

With my '94, I use Hawk Ceramic in front and HP+ in the rear for autocross. For track days, I switch to Nitto NT01 tires and Hawk DTC 30 pads in the front. I keep the HP+ in the rear. These combinations work well for me.
I love Cobalts for the track, but I have a second set of rotors bedded for them. They are far too dusty for street use, but amazing at places like ECR.
Performance Friction 01 as a kick ass track pad, 06 less aggressive. Remember fluid is important too. Motul 600 is great $17 a bottle, flush it every 6 months. Castrol SRF if you're a baller $70 a bottle.
ECR eats brake pads. MSR is not as bad.

Any word on Carbotechs? XP8 or XP10's?
I've liked HP+ at the track but they do dust and make noise for street use. I'm switching to DTC30 fronts in the future.
No first hand experience but I know some guys that like them.
They are the total opposite pedal feel of the pads I like. I'm a tow braker so I like a ton of friction, Carbotechs feel spongy, and half the world like that.Quote:
