Not sure what you mean by trick? You just shorten the shock bodies as much as you can and lower the spring perch. If you instead you want your suspension to work... Read a thread on miata.net called "tein flex rough ride." You need to measure available droop etc to find the right settings.

you'll need to pre-load rear springs ... roughly an inch. other than that, it's pretty straight forward. unbolt the upper control arm to make your life easier :)
