Looking to replace my DD tires that are currently @ 205/50/16. The Kook V12's only come in the sizes shown in the title.
Using a tire size calculator those 2 aren't much different physically. Is the taller/wider a better choice?

I have the 225/50/16 on an 8 inch wheel and they are slightly stretched. I'd see no reason why they wouldn't work fine on the stock wheel and give a bit more cushion and contact patch.
Bring them to Jack Junkies and we can mout and balance them all for $20 total. Maybe Jim H will sell his gift certificate!
It actually doesn't change contact patch size.
What width wheel is this going on?
^16x7 (maybe 16x6.5) OEM wheels
16x6.5
I would go with the 205. Going with the 225 will give you zero performance benefit on a 6.5 or 7 inch wheel.
But that is a lot of extra sidewall. The car will be a full half inch taller!
Thanks guys!
Yeah, makes sense. I forget that the 5 speed wants a short tire, while I'm always looking for tall ones.
Thanks again...pulled the trigger on the 205/55's. $322 shipped after $80 rebate from TireRack.
