Whoa! My Azenis are worn out!

Must be something wrong with my car. My rear Azenis are nearly bald! :wink:

I ordered some more and can get them installed Saturday. I think I can get enough miles to have them worn in by Thursday. Should I run the Azenis that are bald or run new Azenis?

I think the wear pattern was a bit odd. They are worn primarily in the center. I've been doing a lot of over-steer turns latley. :D The driver rear was more worn than the passenger rear. The driver's rear might have been cupped. I'm not an expert on tire wear but it seems a bit lower in the center. What is the likely cause of this wear?

I've been bad and haven't checked my tire pressures as I should but had them at about 30 psi. Tire size is 195/60/14.

I'm already concerned enough having you in my run group, since you have a reputation for spinning out. :tongue: Do me a favor and put the new tires on the car! :wink:

Sounds like the wear may be due to the "a lot of over-steer turns"! Normally wear in the center is a sign of an over inflated tire.

On a serious not do they comply with the following item of the tech sheet?

Tires - good surface condition, no cracks or blisters; appropriate speed rating, minimum 3/32" tread for street tires.

Don't worry about that. Tires are going on tomorrow. As for the spinning... um... well... lets hope not.

I don't have a history of aggressive driving or accidents on the track. If you're seriously concerned, just avoid me. There is plenty of track.

FYI, the spins are typically from my running off track at Boothill. That turn is my white elephant! If you don't get it just right (very late apex) you will run out of track. My goal as always is to be smooth and consistant. I'm consistant. (the spins) :lol: but I hope to keep it on track this time. Over the last few months I've become pretty familiar with my car and it's handling characteristics. She handles pretty nuetral and I don't think she will surprise me. Except for the tires, there will be no new mods to surprise me.

POS is right - center wear is an almost surefire sign of overinflation. 30 psi sounds pretty hig for the Azenis on the street anyway - I'd back it down to 26 psi for the street and see how the next set wears.

Got new Azenis in the rear. The fronts still look really good.

Now I need to bleed my brakes tonight and put some miles on the Azenis and I should be ready for Thursday. :D
