Mazda Corral at COTA Grand Am event Mar 1-2
All
My son and I are big road racing fans, and go to 1 or 2 races a year. So I see a couple of announcements about a BMW car corral at the COTA Grand Am weekend on March 1-2, and wonder if Mazda is doing anything given they sponsor a number of cars in both Grand Am and Continental Challenge. Well it turns out Mazda does have a car corral all set up, with parking and seats at turn 1!
Here is the deal. While all the seats are $59, to get into the Mazda corral you need to call Nick at COTA at 512 536 1464. Our section is T1, Section 4 where you will have seats. You will also want a parking pass for the weekend for $30 where you can park your Mazda near our seating section.
I'm going to follow up with Nick on what other benefits there are for the Mazda corral, but the other corrals I've seen have mentioned parade laps and driver appearances. Stand by on that.
If you've never been to a sports car road race, they are really fun. The paddocks are open to walk through, and if they are not busy the crews are generally happy to talk to you and show off thier cars. There are autograph sessions with the drivers. And this is not one race, there are three (Pro Mazda formula cars, Continental Challenge, and Grand Am).
Let me know if you have questions and help me spread the word to other Mazda people.
