Racing Beat hollow front sway bar installation help

Picked up an RB hollow front sway for my '97 from TDR today and tried installing it a little bit ago. Much to my dismay, I couldn't even get the existing sway bar off. I wasn't expecting to have to remove the radiator to complete the job, but I don't see any other way. At first I thought I just wasn't seeing "it" (the correct angle or rotation) or trying hard enough, but now I'm wondering if it has something to do with my larger-than-factory radiator and fans (PWR radiator with FM stage 2 fan kit). Anybody know?

I never had to pull the radiator on any of the Miatas I've had... :confused:

i had to trim my fan shrouds for the FM front sway... think about just pulling the fans/shrouds... that should give you the room.

Pull lower shroud, remove saddle clamps, undo endlinks, thread OEM bar out. Opposite to reinstall.

I did RB swaybar on my 2001 without having to pull anything.

We've installed a dozen RB hollows. Never had to remove the radiator.

Thanks for all the responses. Now I'm thinking it's because I have it on ramps and the LCA isn't low enough to allow the bar to rotate far enough. I'll try getting it on stands in the morning.

Definitely needs to be raised high enough to manipulate the bar, especially on the right side.

Stands yes. Ramps no.

Much easier when it's raised high enough! Though it still barely fit and is pushing against the passenger side radiator fan. Thanks everyone.
