I just changed the struts and shocks on my daughters Chevy cobalt and need to dispose of the old ones. How would one go about doing that. Interweb search turned up a wide range of answers.

Throw them in POS Racing's yard.

You kids get out of my yard!!! ::Rant::
When I replaced the shocks on my Ranger I threw the old shocks out in the trash. ;)
So... you're saying you don't mind sticking them in your trash after I toss them in your yard later this evening?
Yeah just throw them in the trash. There is a small volume of pressurised nitrogen inside but it isn't very high pressure and a very small volume. If you are really worried about the environment you could cut a hole in the side, drain out the oil and dispose of it and then toss the rest in the garbage.
Thanks guys, trash it is...
