Does an adapter exist to use drill bits on a 1/2 drive? I want to have the ability to drill out a broken stud if I need to but it very rare (twice in 4 years). I don't want to carry a drill too. Yes, I did search this but did not find anything.

We do not recommend that you drill in reverse. Forward, the chuck is very strong. Drilling in reverse may break the retaining screw inside of the chuck. We are working to eliminate this condition. To avoid having to reverse the wrench, try pulling out the drill periodically from the hole with the drill turning so as to remove the debris. This not only prevents the need to reverse the impact wrench but increases the life of the drill bit as well as making a cleaner hole. Using this technique, the chuck should give you many years of good service.
In case you accidentally break the reverse threaded screw inside of the chuck, I will include 2 spares per chuck, with your shipment.
PLEASE READ THESE USEFUL TIPS:
1. Always keep your chuck well lubricated, even between the black collar and the body. When you receive it open and close it a few times to distribute the lubrication.
2. Attach your drill bit to the chuck and tighten it before you attach the Cowan Chuck to your impact tool. Remove the Cowan Chuck from your impact tool before you loosen the chuck.
3. Sometimes a chuck will self tighten too much when drilling deep into a material. If this happens, and you have a problem loosening it, take your Cowan Chuck and insert an extension into it. Clamp the extension in a vice. While firmly holding the key into the chuck with your left hand, tap the key with a hammer. Make sure you are not tapping in the wrong direction and tightening it.
