Got a new Miata and hit the track in one weekend

i have been shopping for a NC miata since i sold my turbo NA. i found a nice used 13 Club Sport Friday and ended up buying it Friday night. Saturday i was up at ECR instructing and had a chance to spend a day on the track with it. i really love it so far.

It has a lot of body lean, i need to get that taken care of. i also need to get a roll bar so i can get some harnesses installed so i don't have to fight to stay in place. i love the way the car handles, tons of fun to throw around on the track. it was box stock save from having pinnacle on site at ECR swap in some Motul fluid before my first session Saturday. Stock pads and they held up fine. will be replacing with something suitable for track work.

You're not driving an NC properly if the stock pads held up fine. Great looking car!

That or the club sport has better than stock pads. The NC's greatest asset is the shortest braking distance. Lesson learned from Miatamoto who has burned up a set of new 06 NC stock pads in a day at ECR.

Shane, I was pushing my lightly modded r package pretty hard and was about a second slower than you. My car is so shamefully slow.

no i don't work at Park Place.

i bought it to track, was actually used with 9500 miles when i bought, the first 30 I put on it were in anger on the track whilst trey taunted me with crude gestures out the window of his green car that i couldn't keep up with. surprisingly, he didn't pull me on the straights as much as i expected, though he raped in corners. anyhow, dealer tags or not, it will get a good monthly track thrashing. i was very happy with the car.
