I want to move a couple of my adapters to a new location (and away from my AT&T UVerse box). I don't want to run any wires if I don't have too.
Sites I am looking at keep using examples for a bridge for stuff like a smart TV, a Blu-ray player, a media streamer, and a home theater PC.
But what I want to put on the bridge is an wired Computer and a couple of VOIP Boxes (Vontage).
So can I use a Bridge?
Can the wifi signal reach where you want to connect the wired devices?

I like the price and I was thinking about getting the bundled deal with new AC router for under $225.00. (Just gotta figure out which AC Router)
For audio in my home I started building a Sonos system. I love the ease of set up and they work as represented. No more speaker wires and lot's of flexibility.

I need to play with some alternative hardware. One nice thing about having an Amature radio license is that in certain areas of the 2.5Ghz/5Ghz spectrum I am allowed ot operate at a full watt of power. So I can legally modify my wifi equipment to operate at much higher power than the normal consumer. There are a lot of external amplified and directional antennas that will allow you to easily transmit up to 4 or 5 miles for a bridged connection.
Have you considered dd-wrt? I messed around with a gaming bridge and finally gave up. With dd-wrt, I was able to change an old Netgear wireless N router I had laying around into a usable bridge between the office (printer, 2 PC's) and the living room (FiOS router). I've been running this bridge for about 2 months now and it has been solid so far. Firmware update and configuration was very simple.
I messed with an old Linksys router but didn't have any luck getting it setup without it crashing or its IP address disappearing. Which may be why it was in a box and not in use. ;-)Quote:

I have a Belkin N750 that I bought off CL for $30, and it was also very simple to setup and establish multiple networks (2.4 and 5.0, guest). No problems or resets so far, been 3-4 months.
