Differnt flexplates on 90 versus 97 ?

Are the Miata automatic flex plates different on the 90 versus the 97 model?

I read that the Manual tranmissions can be interechanged by using the flexplate that matches the manual tranmissions.

Seems like the auto should follow the same way.
But what about the harness?

I don't know nuthin bout no automatic, boss...

However, since you can swap a 1.6 flywheel into a 1.8 car, I would assume you could use either flex plate. After all, it's basically just a starter gear.
