Howdy All
I just bought my first Miata on Monday.
Although I am new to Miatas, I know quite a lot about late 80s-early 90s Mazda designs and engines because of the many Ford Festivas I've owned.
My car is a 1992 in black. It is a C package with power windows, cruise control, power steering, A/C, power antenna, leather seating, stainless sill panels, and wooden knobs.
The body is pretty straight with the only damage being to the front driver side fender. The tail finisher is cracked and the front bumper is wavy.
The paint clear coat is peeling/fading. I plan to wash, clay bar, and wax the car soon to see just how bad the paint is.
Interior is in great shape. Only wear is one tear in the driver's seat and a crack on the dash. The top is old and the plastic window has a crack.
I'm looking into a glass window replacement.
The engine runs great and sounds good. Odometer shows 192,000 miles. Oil pressure stays around 60PSI while driving.
Here's a list of things I've noticed need repair:
-High idle (1500-200RPM) -sometimes drops below 1000
-Driver side headlight motor is noisier than passenger side and sometimes acts odd- goes down, back up, then back down when turning lights off.
-Power antenna mast is broken- I've ordered a replacement.
-Glovebox sags
-The driver side hood hinge pivot point has some play and causes a rattle that can be heard quite loudly while driving.
-Interior lighting is terrible. I'm looking into adding some dome lights to the mirror or area around it.
-Shift boot is torn.
-Battery hold down is missing.
-Power windows are slow.
-Air bag light flashes. 10 flashes. I found three air bag fuses and all are good.
-Steering feels loose and notchy. Car likes to wander, especially when accelerating or when driving over bumps.
I've been researching a lot of these and working on fixing several.
I already have a long Word document of more things I want to do to the car such as new bushings all around and shocks, etc.
Here's my album on Photobucket:

Can anyone identify the wheels? I'd like to find some center caps for them.

Welcome aboard...for starters, go get a universal battery tie-down or make your own. You don't want it bouncing around in the trunk.

Welcome!
You can find fixes for most of those ailments in the Miata.net garage section. Most of it is more labor than cost. For your windows, get the Teflon window guide kit with the special grease. IIRC, you can find the seller here with a search. FYI, the seats in your car have been recovered (they were originally tan), not that there's anything wrong with that. Also, the original wheels were BBS and were a bit expensive to replace. Even the center caps were spendy.
Enjoy your new toy. I bet the car is happy to have an owner like you.
