On a long out-of town trip, I'm not particularly comfortable, not having a spare tire on my 2007 MX-5 with 17" wheels. So I am considering getting a spare. Elsewhere I read that a 16" compact "donut" tire (5 lug-nuts) from a Mazda RX-7, RX-8, or Mazda 3 will fit my car and in my trunk.
Does anybody have one of those spares, or know where I can get one?
You might check with Mazda-Nissan Heaven in Mansfield. (Long haul from Plano though...might try Track Dog Racing)
Assuming the Mazda 3 is the same, 16x4 compact spare. LKQ in Hutchins has a several in stock around $50 if you need one let me know.
I used a Mazda3 spare on mine.
Let us know what you find. I would like one too for my 2006.
Called Mazda Nissan Heaven, they have a17" spare for $85.
LKQ in Hutchins has some too, they are around $70 each. 17x4 from a Mazda 3 or 6.Quote:
