Looking for FM timing belt tools

I have a 2003 ls which I got 2 years ago. It has almost 100k miles with no records for timing belt job.
About me...
I am a grad student...have been busy until last week with thesis work. Next week I will get my PhD in Aerospace Engineering (went to UTA). I want to celebrate by taking a road trip spanning America (including LA and New York). May be about 2 months on the road... An epic ending to my student life.
Planning..
I have got the living situation figured.. I have family and friends in almost every state. The route is not finalized yet but I have a rough idea. I am planning to do timing belt, water pump, and a new radiator next week. Getting miatamecca's kit for TB/WP and TYC radiator for parts.
My questions
1. I know many of you have done similar road trips. I am waiting for your words of wisdom on this topic.
2. I figure I will be needing the FM tools for the Timing belt job. Since it is a rarely used item, I was hoping I could borrow it from anyone who is willing to lend it. I live in Arlington, TX. I know I haven't been active on the forums here (I can't post in the classifieds). But I have been fairly active on miata.net...
