Can someone suggest a reliable, light weight jack that is low enough to go under a Miata for changing wheels at an autocross event?

Harbor Freight aluminum
^+1...catch it on sale for $60.
Great! I have a HF a mile from my house. The 1.5 ton racing jack is $79 right now, so I'll watch for the sales.
+1 for the Harbor Freight jack. I have been using the same Harbor Freight aluminum jack for about 7 years. My jack has held up very well. Now I have to pull my lowered CSP Miata on to 2x12's to get the jack under the car.
I just serviced mine with some new oil. Works like a champ!
I have the harbor freight one, it needs some service as well but it has been great for the past 6 or so years I have had it.
The other day I was at Home Depot and they had an aluminum "racing" jack that was EXACTLY the same as the Harbor Freight jack, but only $63.00. Only difference was that it was black in the areas where the HF jack is blue, and it had the brand HUSKY written on it. I almost bought it as there's a few little things wrong with mine.
Another data point - Back in the day when I used my own car I changed tires the day before an event that way I could leave the jack at home. ;-)
Yeah, I will probably swap them out at home too, since otherwise I'd need a trailer or a "crew" vehicle to transport them to the event.
I buy a new HF jack for $59 every couple of years, and I always have two. They are very durable, light, easy to service, and it isn't a big deal if you kill one or it gets leaky. I usually either give the old jack to a friend or sell it for $20. Keep an eye out for coupons.
lol
Great deal, but it's the fine print that gets you every time... "*Cannot be used with ... any of the following items ...: , floor jacks, ..."
The standard 20% coupon is good with the jacks.
Had to go look at home depot’s website, looks like it's on sale for $58.
This also looks promising http://www.homedepot.com/p/Pro-Lift-...-767/203610329 low profile steel only a few pounds heavier than the other one. $46 free shipping on both
The steel one also meets ansi pald 2009 standard, always nice to see that it meets an external spec. The website does not say that the aluminum meets any standard.
^I see $45.88 with free shipping. What a deal!
That steel jack is pretty small, and I've seen them bend several times.
