NB ANSA Dual Exhaust
A previous owner of my 2002 installed an ANSA dual tip exhaust. I have always really liked the sound but it developed an internal rattle. I expect that a baffle weld has come loose, but I don't know. It basically sounds like something loose in the suspension when I go over parking lot bumps, but it's inside the muffler. Other than that, I never hear it and that's only with the top down. It may be that somebody rolled a bolt into one tail pipe, it might be some other kind of debris, it might be a loose baffle that could be fixed by cutting open the muffler can, fixing it, and welding it closed. I don't know and didn't want to go to the bother of finding out. However, I can't stand rattles so I got a new muffler.
The ANSA is this unit: http://shop.enthuzacar.com/product.s...2&categoryId=5 . That link also includes a sound clip (not my car) at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpeUkAZYEW8 . It's got nice shiny tips with "Silverline" etched in them.
I'll take $50 cash.

Immediate price drop! When I removed the ANSA to install the new muffler, I found that the joint at the muffler can where the exhaust enters the can shows signs of a leak. I'm sure a little wire brushing and an application of Muffler Weld (TM) will fix it, but I'll drop the price from $100 to $50.
