Clutch hydraulic fluid disappers

I’m not the greatest mechanic so I need help figuring something out.

Parked the autocross car in November and uncovered it Monday to do some pre-season maintenance

Clutch pedal went to the floor. Worked perfectly when parked, now nothing.

Looked at the clutch master and it was totally empty. No sign of leaks on the floor or inside engine bay under the master or around any hose/line fittings or inside the cockpit. Everything dry and no dampness I can see.

Put a new clutch slave on it Monday afternoon and all is good.

Looked at it today Wednesday and the clutch master is empty. No leaks or dampness anywhere I can see

Where did the fluid go?

Guess I’ll fire the parts cannon again and put a clutch master on it, but WTF?

Anyone had this happen?

Split clutch line from master to slave cylinder?

Check the firewall insulation under the pedal. If its not leaking there, then I'd have to assume its in the bell housing.

It's almost always the slave cylinder. It's miata 101.

Always change the Master/Slave together….Pull the Master and see if its leaking at the input. :likely:

just replaced the master

it was shiny wet (not dripping) around the snap ring that holds the piston in the bore

no fluid anywhere on the firewall, either side

bled it out and we'll see if it keeps fluid

love the Motive one man bleeder

three days since replacing the clutch master and all is good so the master must have died with the car just sitting in the garage

still wonder where the fluid went
