Hey guys,
What's up with the PCA time trials? Is this something a semi-novice autocrosser can/should do?
Being the Saturday before the next ER event, at the same location, it might make for a fun weekend.

Yes.
there are several painted down road courses on the MW surface
cones are usually added only for braking reference and apexes
in the 1990s, PCA used to hold a series of Time Trials there that had lots of attendance and were a big deal (for PCA members)
if the format is the same as before, each driver will get 3 or so laps on the course at speed all at once to try to get that driver's best time
no wheel-to-wheel because multiple cars on the course are separated by distance, just like in an autocross
typically you will get more than one on-track session
The usually have four sessions with one warm-up lap and three hot laps. Two sessions in AM and two in PM.
Does anyone know when registration will open for this event?
I am looking forward to making a full weekend of it, with the TT on Saturday and the AutoX on Sunday.
Looks like it's open. Clubregistration.net. Search for Maverick.
Ok, cool. I was looking on their website. I guess it's not updated yet. Thanks!
Woo Hoo, I am signed up and ready to go. Here is a link to the sign in page. https://clubregistration.net/events/...?event_id=7567
In.
I'm signed up. I'll be leaving early for a wedding, though. Not mine -- I'm taken.
I'm registering right now, but I don't know what class my stock 2015 NC falls into. Where do I find a description of the non-Porsche street tire classes (1x, 2x, 3x)?
Nevermind, I think I got it.
From http://mav.pca.org/events/NonPorsche...sing-AX-TT.htm
The following Car Classing rules apply to NON-PORSCHE vehicles only:
Non-Porsche Car Classing is based on engine size:
- Class 1X/1R is for engines under 2.3 liters, EXCEPT Honda S2000 and Lotus Elise/Exige
- Class 2X/2R is for engines over 2.2 liters, but under 4.0 liters, PLUS Honda S2000
<>·Class 3X/3R is for engines over 3.9 liters, PLUS Lotus Elise/Exige.
Lets say I was lazy and didn't feel like using the power of the Interwebz...... When is this event??
May 28, Mineral Wells, the day before the ER Mirrorcross.
In!
I wonder if this is a go, no matter how many sign up? There aren't very many on the roster right now.
With the PCA-MR website still showing "registration not open", it's no wonder they aren't getting very much interest.
Yep I'm sure it's still a go. The attendance is usually pretty small compared to an autocross
Yep, the attendance is always limited, no matter how much is it publicized. I think they're okay with that, really. Not sure why more people do not go.
