So my 1960's vintage Schumacher battery charger doesn't seem to be 100% these days. Plus I now have AGM Batteries in 2 out of our 4 cars. Cadillac has an Optima Yellow Top, and the Miata has an OEM style AGM.
So what is the modern way to go? I've seen mentions of Noco and CTEK as some of the better new age chargers. Also I see Schumacher makes a neat looking modern chemistry compatable battery charger.
Anyone got any first hand experience with "modern" chargers?
Mine is a Schumacher too. It's probably close to 20 years old. I'd be sure the new one has a trickle-charge feature.

I got mine on the Ranger this afternoon it was showing 15 amps for the last 3 hours.... Tapped on the gauge dropped down to 3 amps. ;-)
I have a Stanley D15BS that i really like. Has a jump start mode.
I have a Schumacher 50 amp model. Still in the box. Want it?

I have a battery tender that I use for the Miata because I don't drive it enough. I got my Dad a Noco G4 for his boat which promptly got wet, Noco sent me a new one (extra wires and all) on exchange. Pretty happy with them so far.
I have twin of the battery tender by Deltran for the Miatas. No complaints. Might still be on sale at Costco.com for $29.95.
